Deaf Youth USA’s Blog is up!

Howdy all!!

This blog is set up to give you regular and immediate updates on Deaf Youth USA while we work on updates to our official website. We have plenty to keep you posted about!

* Deaf Youth USA was represented at National Council of La Raza’s Lideres Youth Summit and AT&T’s Advisory Panel on Access & Aging in 2010. We expect to keep on representing in future events!

* Since Camp 2010, Deaf Youth USA’s Board has held several meetings on restructuring. A memo will be made public on the progress shortly.

* Deaf Youth USA Austin has been formed

* “DYUSA GOING LOCAL” Campaign has been started with the goal of getting more young deaf people aged 18-30 people involved on local level.

* Deaf Youth USA in planning to host THREE 2011 camps in Bay Area (West Coast), Austin (South), and Virginia (East Coast)

* Jacob Leffler and Leala Holcomb joined the National Board as Executive Assistant and Financial Director.

* DYUSA has been in meetings with NAD to send American Youth Delegates to the World Federation of Deaf Youth Section Camp and Assembly 2011. More information coming to you shortly on the application process.

* DYUSA heartily gives its support to The M Projects and Operation Smile. Expect to see events in collaboration coming up soon!

As you see, DYUSA has been busy lately working for the best interests of deaf young people in America aged between 18 and 30 years old. We believe in the best qualities that we have to offer the world – fresh perspective, energy and ambition, power in participation, and being the change we want to see in the world!
